Mk1 Insurance 23 year old

Hi, I'm looking to renew my insurance. I'm 23 and have a 1982 1.8 GTi i have one claim 4 years ago and 3 points. my car is slightly modified, Wheels, suspension and exhaust. Was wondering if anyone can give me an idea of a good company to try as want to upgrade to fully comp. I do about 5000 miles a year as have a company car. Any comments would be most appreciated. cheers.

Admiral were good for me. I'm 23 yr old lad no points but 1 claim. mk1 Gti. For some reason they dropped my quote after i told them id just ended my previous contract with em, i.e. i claimed after my car was stolen. Got a quote for 630 which i didnt think was too bad. Declared my alloys and its lowered so all in all not bad.

Try phoning them n see if you can do a deal over the phone. Try taking off breakdown cover/courtesy car.

try carole nash i'm 21 with a 1.6 gti mines 340 i think for fully comp. I think a lot depends on how sound the person you get to speak with is

I'm with Chaucer through HIC. It's a classic policy but it allows me to have ?1500 of cosmetic mods including wheels and suspension lowering. I think you can have upto 10k miles/yr.

Cheers for the help guys will give them both a try nxt week, 340 sounds amazing best i've had fully comp is ?1125 which i feel is a little steep.
