Mk1 1.8 20v t insurance

Hi i was just wondering if anyone could tell me where they are insuring there 20v t mk1 golfs, as i would like to start seeing if i will even be able to insure my car.
I am using the mk4 golf engine and have been told that it is done on the insurance group of the car that the engine came out of so ig 14 then a little charge on top. Is this correct?

I had a quote through HIC when i was gonna PD TDi my cabby, I think with all mods listed it was around ?1500, but that was including, engine, brakes, suspension and dash.
