Just insured my cab Gti for £120 fully comp!

Must be one of the only decent things about being the wrong side of 30!
Sure term direct
£120 all in, replacement car, (although not a mk1 I'm sure!) with just £100 excess.
Quoted me happy!

thats a good price, will try them when doing the the ring around next time, only paying a little less that that with peter best

is there any limited mileage on that? did you have to have another policy with second car? does it include agreed valuation?

Cheers

Rich

I only drive the cab in the summer so i ltd it to 2k millage-wise.

Agreed valuation -  yes

This is the only policy I have with them and the cab is insured with no "no claims"

I also had a bump in my passat back in jan 2010 so they take that into consideration also.

All in all not bad i thought considering my renewel with AF was £270

Good stuff!

Does that leave just the tax to get now then?

My sureterm insurance via compare the market was just shy of £130, 1.8 clipper limited to 5000 mile.

Yep, just the tax to get and the battery to charge now fella!
April though I reckon, not keen on this cold weather.

Imagine if you were a 18 kiddy trying to insure a MK1 GTI cab!? if anyone would touch you I bet it would be £3000 +

Thats a brilliant price!!!I just took out new insurance today with Footman James ( CABBY SPORTLINE AGREED VALUE £3000)limited to 1500 miles a year and it cost me £209!!!!!!! With a £150 excess. I am 37, using no no claims, not garaged but on private driveway, no points/claims etc…….feel well shafted now……AND that was with my 10% club discount……..ho hum, such is life!

I'm the same as you myfirst, 37, no no claims as they don't accumulate on a classic car do they.
No points but did claim on my daily runner back in jan 2010 in the snow.
So chuffed was I with my £120 that I even ensured it 3 weeks before it ran out just to be sure it wouldn't go up lol

Still very cheap mate!   How many miles are you limited to?

Come on J-man sort that tax out for the mini heatwave due at the end of the week. I'm sure you can afford 12 months with your bargain insurance

Coyote, on mine I am VERY limited to 1500, although I wont even do half that probably, I think I was quoted £279 for 3000 miles, quite a difference!! My policy does at least offer breakdown cover.

I know that all to well mate, I just cant help myself. I even went for a blast on Sunday, roof up though! The suspension keeps waving at me in the box but its a bit cold for motivating myself  :redfaced:

Ill get you some adult size nappies in for Aril 1st so you dont get the seats damp, I may get myself some aswell - would be pretty handy for staying at the bar for longer when i'm next on a session.
