Insurance Question

I insure my Rivage on a Classic Policy, limited to 3000 miles / yr - usually paying around £100, with Performance Direct.

My renewal premium has come through and this year it's £200.

When I asked them why, they informed me that their underwriters no longer consider the Mk1 Golf a Classic Car.


I am happy to move to another company - can anyone advise whether they have had the same feedback from their insurers as me - and also, who should I be calling to get back down the £100 mark.

I am 34, the car is only insured for pleasure, no commuting.

hi im 42 got a quote off adrian flux for £134 fully comp wi 5000 miles max wi social domastic and pleasure to and from work wi salvage rights —they wanted £200 i just said i had got a cheeper quote and thanked them THEN she asked what quote i had got told a little white lie and bobs ya uncle and roberts your farthers dad and down came the price cheers

i have heard stories of classic suddenly not being classics anymore

insurance will do anything to get money out of you
