Insurance Job title discrepancy
I know it's such a dull topic, the big con that is car insurance. My Adrian Flux insurance is almost up and I called them, to tell them that my job had changed to Company director and music studio manager.
This is what i do at the moment. Previously my job title was musician and this is highly expensive as it falls under "entertainment". So immediately i'm going to down a bottle of Jack daniels, do a bunch of drugs and then wrap my car around a tree. My insurance last year was ?800 ish pounds, which i thought was steep concidering i have 4 years no claims.
Now I have 5 years no claims, I'm 24 years old and my renewal, with my different job title (which i assumed would be cheaper) is ?1300 ish. This seems ludicrous. I was told that HIC can't compete with Adrian Flux as they are sister companies. I can get standard insurance on a non agreed value policy for loads cheaper ?600 ish. I'm scared of getting nothing however, if the worst happened to my car. Anyone have any advice on how these vast sums are calculated and if i should just go for a standard policy? Any good or bad experiences? I drive a 83 Gti.
Much appreciated.

I have a vectra diesel as my daily motor and tried to get a policy with my current insurer for my 83 campaign… they quoted ?1000 ish!!!! So….off I went to confussed.com and was quoted about ?240 all the way up to ?600…. footman james.. with AXA roadside recovery, legal cover… fair enough it's limited to 1500 miles (will be off the road often due to respray and engine wrok) … ?112 for the year!!
Sorry I can't help with how they work it out but give footman a chance you'll be surprised!!!!

It's frustrating as i figured 5 years no claims, 7 years driving, no convictions etc. Should put me in a good stead for cheap insurance. Obviously not. I'll try some others. Any other younger drivers got agreed value policies on GTI's??
Cheers
