insurance at 17

who will insure me cheap?
well relatively…
and i need insurers that dont mind the odd mod (only thinking about some nice wheels and coilovers)
who are all you with?

HIC gave me a good qoute this year, I'm a bit older than you though, try those mate.

i tryed to get a quote for direct line for a 1.3l mk1 driver and the result was just over ?2,200 with alloy rims! A bit of a shock really considering the fact that i brought the car for around ?500.

hi, im in the same situation as you, iv turned 17 and iv had my mk1 golf 1.5gl for 4 years restoring it, and the cheapest quote i got was 2,400quid and that was without mods!!

When i was 17, Adrian Flux insured me on my mk2 gti 8v and i learn't to drive in it.

Limited to 8,000 miles a year, with a value of ?1500 on the car with suspension, wheels and exhaust mods it worked out at ?115 a month.

This was 4 years ago though mate  

basicly youre gunna get stuffed for insurance till youve got some no claims under your belt and/or youre over 25! cheap quotes will have stupidly high excesses!!

well i got a quote for 900 for a year on my mk1 1.1 though but now ive added ATS cups not sure what its gunnna be like now anybody know how much it will go up buy???

To be honest i dont think you gunna find a low quote when your 17 unless it has limited miles, high excess, or no mods. i suppose you could not claim your mods but thats jus stupid and cheep! i knew some one who had a saxo  :tlc: with loads of unclaimed mods  :naughty:  and when the time came when the idoit managed to roll his car in a multistory car park whilst showing off he ended up spending more money on the repairs than the insurance itself!

We are just gunna have to put up with the fact that people our age are gunna have pay higher prices for insurance!!! :cry:

Have just found a great quote on Kwik fit insurance, they offered me ?1201 for full comprehensive insurance!
