Hmm…. if you were a member you'd probably save ?1000's for your ?15 joining fee as there are companies on our discounts section.  Before you take my word for it and sign up just for cheaper insurance (and all the other discounts), you may want to pm Lawsy to see how he got on trying to get us deals for under 25's.

Hope we can help you and others this young getting into the mk1 scene

click on pm on his profile:-

http://www.vwgolfmk1.o…e&mode=viewprofile&u=7864

but make sure you put a subject in or it'll look like it's sent but will just sit there.

For future reference in finding people simply go to "Search" on the toolbox to the left of the screen.  Type the person you want to find in the "Author" box.  Click search and have a look for their name.  When you click their name you enter their profile.  You then have a "pm" option.

I'm sure he won't mind helping you mate as he's done a lot of work with lots of companies for the members benefit.  An under 25's policy was something he was striving for.

There is a 15% membership discount organised by Lawsy with Premier Choice, and they are happy to quote to 19 - 24 year olds, but I guess you will need to give a membership number.

As suggested, pm Lawsy and I'm sure he'll help you out.

?3,300 is a serious wedge of cash… if a ?15 membership can save you a couple of hundred then it's worth it… just hope they can  8O that's an interior and new rims!!

Meets are open to anyone and I'm looking forward to them in the summer (when mines all painted and back together).  Hope you can go to them mate… that's probably a good chance for you to ask questions  :dontknow:

Sorry, missed the 17 bit! It's a big ask to get insured on a 1.8 GTI at 17.

Re the pms, you need to refresh your inbox rather than just use the back button to return to it.

When you have passed your test - it may be worth your while doing the pass plus course. Insurance companies love this and some offer quite alot of discounts for it mate.

This tells you about it but costs will vary depending on where you live and who is taking you.

I'd suggest doing a google search in "uk only" for "pass plus county" obviously change the "county" bit for your county.
