They don't seem to care about small mods like wheels and suspension as I declared mine and the bloke just huffed and said they didn't matter.

10/10 for price I just hope nobody every needs to test their post accident service

Think FJ deal in classic policies, which are often; car 20+ years old, driver 25+ years old, have another daily driver car, limited milage and car be garaged at night. Quite strict if its your only motor and you arn't 25 yet.

1983 Mars Red 1.8 Golf GTI
1987 Alpine White 1.8 Clipper Cabriolet

The trouble with doing nothing is that you never know when you are finished.

yeah thought that would be the case, looks like elephant are coming up top trumps on the renewal.

Im also a member of club gti and tried there discounted insurance which is through greenlight.

I do less than 1000 miles a year  , clean liecence :D  drive my own named insured van at work, told them i was a member of both clubs :D  and they came back with a quote of ?657 over ?100 more than elephant, thats with a discount :dontknow:

So ive decided to stick with the safari animal insurance

Sounds about right to me  :)

I'm 26 and just insured my modded 83 tin top via FJ with 3000 miles limited milage at a cost of ?222 without garage or drive althought its kept in a lock up when not in use :)

I'm obviously unable to say about post accident hassles there maybe and hopefully i dont wish to find out but im sure ive read elsewhere that people had no problems with claims aslong as you have the agreed value sorted with them.

do most people get agreed value for cars just incase something does happen?

if so, do most companies offer agreed value or only selective ones

I pay ?160 for my cabby with Adrian Flux. I'm 31. On a classic policy so annoyingly no NCB to gain!

2003 VW Passat 130 Sport

Classic policy normally requires you to have another car as a daily driver. You earn the NCB on the daily, but its taken into consideration when assessing the risk to cover your classic one(s).
