Footman James bumping up premium!

I've just recieved a letter from footman james asking for proof of no claims bonus or they'll up my insurance by £580! I'm 32 and drive a slightly modded Rivage, all mods are declaired. The thing is I've been insured with them for over a year and now they send the letter out of the blue. If I don't have the 9 years bonus that they want they're going to cancel my policy. My policy was only  about £400 fully comp, so with the extra cost it'll be nearly a grand!!!!!!

Who else can I insure with that are modifications friendly and mk1 friendly?

Surely they ask for NCB proof within the first month or so of starting your policy? And its just a case of sending your previous renewal letter, which has it on. Or giving then your previous insurer's details for them to do the legwork.
