Classic - Normal Whats the diference?
As my title says really what are the differences between classic and normal insurance?

There's no definite fixed meaning, but normally a 'classic' car policy will be like this:
* Car must be a certain age, or a certain make/model. (See note)
* car must be not be a daily driver
* Therefore, NCB is only used as guidance to risk, not giving a defined % bonus as in normal (main car) insurance
* Limited mileage clause
* Probably unable to get business cover, although there are exceptions
Note, different insurers define a 'classic' car differently. For example almost all will recognise any car over 25 years old as a classic. But then when its younger, they might have a list of make/model which they'd accept as a classic. When I first looked for insurance, my Mk1 Golf was 24 and certain insurers couldn't accept it as a classic. They did however fully accept other 'underage' cars such as Mercedes coupe, Ferrari, Porsche, etc as classics. Sometimes companies widen it to over 10 years, or 15, or whatever.
