Can't believe how cheap it is to insure

Bought my clipper on saturday so thought I'd best insure it.All based on 3000 mile policy and not used as a main car.

Footman James £195  fully comp £100 excess,£60 windscreen,breakdown cover & legal.

Adrian Flux £189 fully comp £150 excess,£60 windscreen,breakdown cover & legal.

Lancaster £177 fully comp,£250 excess,£60 windscreen,breakdown cover & legal.

Peter Best £156 fully comp,£50 excess,£0 wndscreen,breakdown cover & legal.

I upped the excess to £150 and this brought the years cover down to £114.06.

It's gonna cost as much to tax it for 6 months as it is to insure it for the year!!

Can't believe there's that much differece between insurers.

They're all different excess though - its one of the things that varies the price. I'd decide on the amount of excess you're okay to pay and ask for quotes based on that. Also I'd ditch the breakdown cover and see what the difference is - I got separate breakdown cover for £36 or so.

Richyhill, tried that but non of them were able to match Peter Best's quote.
I got the agreed valuation in with the deal-they want 6 photo's then I presume you haggle a price out between yourselves.

Agreed value means there is no haggling - you say the price and they say the £££ to insure that. Unless you take the mickey, since it could be fraudulent if massively overvalued and you tried to make a claim, etc.
