Adrian Flux
I would steer clear of Adrian Flux, go with insurers who underwrite their own policies. If you want to change or cancel your insurance companies like AF always screw you time and time again - trust me it's not worth the little you may save. Companies like Tesco write their own policies and have a flat rate cancellation charge of 10 pound. Adrian Flux stung me for 100 quid - set of bandits.

Me too. And they misquoted me and then denied it.

Too right!! Adrian Flux have the combined brain power of a chocolate mouse, harsh i know, but they do not provide a very professional service and are out to stitch you up in any way possible especially with their cancellation policy. I agree, they may be cheap but there?s a reason why they are, they?re rubbish!!
I'm now mk1less, ahhhhhhh!

think its all down to personal experience, and the phone operator you get on the other end.
Ive had nothing but bad experience with big boys toys for example, but other people swear by them.
Anyhoo, back to the point………….
i must have spoken to someone who was abit more switched on.
im insured with them and got a quote for my 2e engine conversion i am about to start. to go from the 1.8 gti upto the 2e tall block with a ported and polished head and fast road cam was only 17quid. but then they went to add a 15quid admin fee, i said that it was crazy cos all they had to swap some text on a computer screen. so they gave me the admin fee off.
obviously they will probably try and add the same admin fee if i go to end my policy. but i will have to deal with that if that happens.
Cheers
John

i have to admit i wasn't at all impressed with af's admin skills in the slighest, admin's my job and their lack of ability bugs the poop out of me!
I spelt my bf's last name for them twice, they still got it wrong, they didn't note my milage dispite telling them twice again, and they put on my form that i didn't have no claims again told them twice (and by twice i mean i talked to 2 different people and told them the info repeatedly) They sent me thru the paper work 3 times signed by 3 different people, which once i'd phoned them up to change the details they sent thru again twice signed by 2 different people again, they haven't sent me a proper certificat of insurance that's got the changes on that's legible or on 'proper' paper.
absolute bunch of admin tards.
However, their rates are very good, understood why my car has gone up 2k in value and explained stuff very well (apart from the fact that they use an intermediary to take your money off you, which threw me alot! didn't know who the hell the folk were writting to me saying i owed them more than my policy that i'd set up, had to read the rubbishly laid out letter several times before figuring it out).
I will see how they cope with me telling them what my bhp is once i've rolling roaded it and what any mods i do it add upto. considering my cars nowhere near it's original bhp thanks to heathrow engines butchering my clutch and gearbox, i shouldn't actually pay any increase on my mods lol we'll see.

BEWARE KY05 UCO, blind and deaf white haired driver of red transit, avoid at all costs, he thinks running cars on to the verge is ok. i'm fine, car's fine, mood and make up not so good.

I've got 2 cars and a motorbike (1 more soon) insured with them and they offer by far the cheapest premiums. They ballsed up a load of paperwork 3 years ago but that got sorted reasonably quickly.
I think the general consensus is they're OK just as long as you don't make a claim - they become very anal on the intracasies of the policy and the slightest anomaly causes untold hassle.

I asked Adrian Flux for Classic insurance but they declined me because I was under 25! Went with Lancaster instead, ?199.95 tpft. Next cheapest was a non-Classic policy with Endsleigh, ?627!!!!!
Used Adrian Flux for insurance for the Vento, had the same problem with 'Admin' charges for changing details, moaned about it and the wavered them, proof that moaning can work!
