17 and in need of cheap insurance? help!?

Ive tryed directlline and they wont quote me, footman james they qont quote me, peter best, the co-op and im getting nowhere they are all around £5,000 up!
My golf is a 1.1 5 door for shrist sake whats going on!  :dontknow:

yes legally you must be if you'll do the majority of the driving.

The moment the word golf is uttered from and under 25 insurers poo themselves and whack the numbers up. regardless of the engine! if you live in or near a town/city it makes it much worse too.

im 21 and have been driving for 2years. Most of the insurance companys wouldnt quote me but i managed to get insured with AA for 550 a year. Could try classic insurance but i think with most of them you have to be over 25

admiral / elephant would be my suggestion, it is tricky getting cheap / fair insurance at your age bud. maybe try Tesco's as well ?

i have a lupo 999c and getting charged 850 which is crazy been driving 3yrs and sold my 2l gti because they wanted 900 wish i had not sold it now
