Windscreen Tinting debate

Which colour?

I currently own a 1981 Mk1 Gti.

Unfortunately whilst following a lorry recently a stone flicked up and has cracked the windscreen (meaning it will need replacing).

The windscreen at this time is a replacement, and is green tint. What I was wondering is 'what colour windscreen would it have rolled off the production line with'?
I am looking to keep the vehicle as traditional as possible to its 1981 Gti heritage.

The window company that I am using are charging the same price whether it be clear or green so price is not an option. All the other windows in the vehicle are clear (and are original)…it is only the windscreen which is green.

If it makes any difference it is a 1981 (1.6)  Mk1 Golf Gti. It is black in colour and I am going for the campaign look (full interior/exterior refurb to high quality with Pirelli alloys and tires).

Thanks in anticipation!

Bump, as I'm interested to know too.  Personally I like the look of the tinted one

if the rest of the glass is clear, then the windscreen should be as well. assuming the rest of the glass is original that is

if green tint was specified from new, all of the glass would be green (likewise for bronze tint)
