Where does this go?

Post

Does anyone know where this goes? I had a quick look and couldn't find anything where it would attach too, I shed the Haynes manual but couldn't find anything. Im sure its just the return spring for the brake pedal as the pedal is sitting lower than the accelerator, Im just unsure where it sits. Thank's in advance!

I'm starting to think the same thing,  the pedal works fine it just sits a few cm lower then the clutch pedal, I wouldn't of even noticed until I removed bits of the interior.

Should I look at replacing the return spring or is the pedal meant to be slightly lower?

That spring has been put there by someone else… not VW.
It's normal for the clutch pedal to sit a little higher.

What's that blue box attached to the accelerator pedal? That's not the normal fitting for the accelerator cable…..

I'm running twin40s off the 1.8 mk2 engine. The blue box just pulls the cables.

I removed the bolt and spring, thanks guys.
