When can I buy a new Left Hand Drive brake servo unit for a 1.6 GTi?

As my Left Hand Drive, 1981 1.6 GTi EG engined car is being fully rebuilt at the moment, I'm trying to replace major items wherever possible.  The one stumbling block at the moment is the brake servo unit.    I last drove the car 16 years ago, when the brakes worked OK, but it would now seem prudent to change the servo if at all possible.

Having looked high & low on German websites, where any LHD units might be lurking, I can't see any new items available at all.  I'm aware that the rod from the servo is longer on the LHD units, and so a right hand drive unit wouldn't be suitable I guess, unless the rod can be changed over.  Does anybody know if it can be?  A friend from South Africa says he can get me a new one there, but unless that rod can be changed over, there is no point.

The other option is a 2nd hand 16V servo I see available in Germany, and then upgrade the brakes.  Are new 16V servos still available somewhere, for either left & right hand drive?  Any help would be greatfully received.
 

Im thinking about getting mk2 gti 9" servo myself while upgrading brakes and doing engine swap. 

Im from finland and i order most parts from estonia. 
For example "topautoosat" is estonian site in finnish, they have other sites also but i dont know name of those…

New servo goes for 235€ there.
