So 1 wire runs from the dash pod to the radio area - what should it connect to at the radio end?
the other wire runs from radio area and the other end is at the fuse box in nsf footwell with a plastic connector on but it’s not plugged into anything??

I suspect, that it is for constant power for the radio presets, but I don't have the Radio guides for the 83.

On my 81 tin top the Radio had power live full time, and I changed it over to switched, so I couldn't drain the battery.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

Originally, they would have been joined together in the radio connector. It comes from a speed sensor (probably a hall sensor) in the speedometer . It then goes to the radio and continues to the fuse box. I was told but never seen one working that it alters the volume of your radio depending on speed. Just tape them up unless you're planning to use an original radio.
