Damp boot
So Iv got myself a MK1 Golf GTI campaign.
The only problem I have with it is that under the boot 'carpet' is damp, I can't find where it could be coming in from and on a hot day I open my boot and lift the liner then it drys out.
But and thing is it becomes damp again even before it's rained again!!
Can anyone give me advice on this?
Cheers Luke

Look for the water runs behind the side covers……
If your rear window scrapers are shot, and the Body drains plugged… Well Even the rear window seal, and the seals around the tail lights come to mind.
Sprinkle the car with flour, then hose the heck out of it then look for the white.
The rear body after the rear wheel arch has puckers between the outer skin and the interior to drain any water out.

Washer bottle or pump leaking into to boot?
That's if your car has a rear washer bottle?

Iv just found it now.
I put the hose pipe on the car while the back seats where down with the parcel shelf and carpet was folded back.
It came straight in through the back light!!!
I undid the 8mm nuts and found the seal had been put on wrong at some point with it folded over the ridge of the light.
DRY BOTTOM!!!

Good one, Had a similar issue with my 81 Golf.
Only after about 15 years the Tail light Gaskets had Shrunk…..
Glad you don't have to wear Depends for your soggy bottom….
