Mark 1 Golf GTI 1986 - Drivers Side Seat
Drivers seat won't tilt assume it is a broken seat lever cable, does anyone have one?

Be sure that you check the plastic locks that the latches hook over on for wear, and that you clean and oil the bejeezers out of the latch fingers so they move good,

I repaired mine when it needed doing using red through crimps, I'll dig out some pics if I can find them. It's a bit of a faff as you have to remove the seat cover. I removed the seat from the car to make it easier. I did the repair nearly a year ago and it's still ok (famous last words!).

I did mine over quite a few years and it is still going strong….. I think because folks don't lube, the fingers they rust and become hard to pull which snaps the pot metal finger… at least on 3 of my cabbies, that the cable finger broke.

does just 1 catch move when you pull the lever? I noticed on mine the plastic guide was broken so no tension on the cable for the inner catch. I have just stripped some seats so have everything off them if you need anything
