Injectors are they any good

Hi all, I have a 1991 GTi cabriolet, and as am trying to get it to run right I thought I would check the injectors to see if they are good or bad and I did the glass jar test on them. All 4 are giving out the same amount of fuel and now I want to know if the injectors are misting right. Please see video attached if I can get it on here. Any advice is much appreciated and I can't thank the members on here enough with all the help you guys are providing.

Some of the injectors that I have seen have a hat on the bottom, are these hats on the injectors removable or not.

Wrong injectors, yours should be digifant. No Hats, just 2 o-rings.

To clean them I used a 9v DC battery to Pick the solenoid, and Sprayed Berryman's through them.  Only took about 5 seconds per injector.

May have had an engine change over some time, engine code I have is DX

How do the injectors i am showing work, do they work under pressure or is it something else. Cause I was thinking if I would be able to clean them out with an air compressor attached to them with brake cleaner going through them.

Sorry for the mistake, as over here 90-93 are usually Digifant 1 or Digi 2

Thanks for that Briano1234 is there a way I can upload videos so just to make sure I am not doing anything I don't need to, knowing my luck they would break whilst putting the metal hats on

number 1 looks good, but they all could use a good cleaning with Berrymans.

Did you look at the link I posted.

After a few goes with Berryman's.


He also shows you how to replace the tophats on the end.

Yes briano1234 I did look at the link and will get berryman ordered. Would it come with the straw or is that something you had

IT should come with a Straw for the Nozzle.

Hi Briano1234, got the Berrymans today and was trying to clean the injectors but once the straw is in and press the nozzle on the can it pushes all the cleaning fluid back out the top where the straw is in putted, am I doing something wrong here.

Are you sure that the Straw is fully seated as it looks from the pic, that it is by-passing the straw.

The straw is seated properly as the injector was spraying in 5 directions and due to the pressure it must have come away and then it doesn't spray from the bottom of the injector but leaks out the top as shown in the picture.

It has always worked for me, only thing I can think of is to fill it with berrymans, and turn it upright and let it soak.  

Also try another injector and see if it works.  Are you sure that you have it fully inserted and seated?

I ll try it again later on after I've let it soak and may loosen things inside I don't know how bad they are
