Earth points

Does anyone have a diagram with earth points on the car please? I've found an old link on here with a description but if someone had a picture/diagram that would be amazing.
Last leg of my refit on the build and only electrical issues to sort 😂

Mines a 1982 1.6 GTi

I fitted a new wiper stalk as it just kept going with the ignition on with the old stalk, fitted the new one today and it was doing the same again but this time it started smoking from the base.
I'm presuming that it's an earthing issue or should I say hoping 😂
