Stating the obvious it's probably a timing issue, I've got it wrong in the past and the car refused to start.
Set your valve timing to the book then the ignition, line the rotor arm up with the notch on the case, then if it should start use a strobe.

Are you getting fuel to the engine?
Is there a spark at the plugs?
The engine needs fuel, air and a spark at the right time so start at the basics and check everything over.
