Stiff Clutch mk1 clipper

Hi all,


I've just purchased a mk1 golf clipper, absolutely love the car and wanted one for ages.

The car is in good condition however the clutch feels feel very stiff and heavy. Appreciate this is a cable clutch and its not the first classic car I've owned and driven.

I can't see any evidence the cable is pulling on the firewall but I can see the firewall flex.

Is this a good sign of a clutch that needs replacing?
