Ignition keeps blowing fuse 18

Soon as ignition turns on it pops fuse 18
Its a 90 clipper cabrio,
No horns are working so disconnected the loom that feeds the horns and a sensor at the bottom of the radiator the car has no sensor in the expansion tank as i read it feeds this too and the hand brake light on the dash not working everything else ok
Does the carb heater work off fuse 18?
Any ideas be much appreciated
Cheers

Should be the or could be not limited to:

The Brake warning light:
Seat Belt light:
Seat belt warning relay:

Brake fluid level switch
e-brake switch
Door contact switches left and right
Seat belt switch drivers side
Interior (courtesy lamp)

All the above draw from f18.

I would suspect the relay first.

optional things:
If it is a manual transmission, then cruise control circuits if equipped with Cruise.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

As far as I'm aware UK MK1s never had seat belt warning circuits.

If the horn never worked I'd suspect that, it draws a heavy current and involves relays etc. Beaware that its wired different from the rest of the world, its fed +ve and is earthed at the horn push/sheeling wheel. This would also lead to it being the culprit if it blows as soon as ign is on. Check the the horn wiring for damage or being messed with.

Reconnect everything else and see it still blows or not.
