Rev counter?

Post

Hi gents, i took out my instruments today to sort out all the issues back there.
Everything went well thanks to the guides on here.
I ran new wires for the dash lights as the circuit was broken, success!
Tightened up the connector with tape and ran a new ground and voila!, Fuel gauge and temp gauge burst into life.
Everything is now working, the digital display, the "mpg" thing etc.
Brilliant, except now the rev counter has stopped working… boo!
I gave the connector a good wiggle with no joy.
Any thoughts?

Check the earth cable on the back of the rocker cover if you have the MFA computer.

Did you bulk out the connector with electrical tape when the instrument where out?

Thanks for the reply.
I spliced an extra earth to the car behind the dash.
I also "plumped" under the connection.

pull the fuse for 30 seconds and try again, often when they loose power the mfa computer goes funny and needs a reset.

if the mpg setting works ok though this suggests an issue with the circuit board inside or a loose connection as tacho is fed from same feed as the mfa computer…
