Top Fill Rad and Fan on Twin Carbs

Post

What're people using for clearance?

As the title really - running 9a on 45's and always been annoyed by the current top fill rad covering most of one of the carb trumpets. What have you used and where did you get it from?

Id like something that fits under the slam panel and maybe run twin fans?

I got told the other day that some run a Honda rad with is slightly smaller but thicker and is single fan can't remember what one it was but I have the same problem and would like a twin fan that goes under the slam planel but failing that I'm gonna look into the Honda rad. sorry not much help but looking for same as you

Rob,  not heard about the Honda option but found a build on edition 38 using IMG_6380.PNG a 2.0 nova fan for about £150 on eBay, not Inc fan. Maybe something to look into.  IMG_6381.PNG

Very interested in this too. Am I right in thinking that those Nova radiators use an expansion tank?

I've gone with a top fill rad and push fan from ebay

A 12" fits on the radiator and under the slam panel thus meaning it's completely out of the way.

I did have to switch the wiring as it was pulling not pushing  for some odd reason but apart from that works well.

I have a big block top fill rad if you want one.

Otherwise a BMW 3 series with integrated expansion tank is also used where space is tight. Be careful though as there are 2 types, a taller and shorter one. The shorter one is required. HOWEVER it is recommended that a new cap is used. I phoned BMW about availability and they are in very short supply and cost as much as a new radiator!

A couple more options for you.  ;)
