Then I add the Myle support ram and for some reason the top corner of the tailgate (passenger s, next to the ram) seems to get pulled down.
I've swapped over hinges, added a couple of washers under the hinge and nothing seems to work!
Heeeelllllllppppppp me!

Is the boot strut on the right way up, eg when open the main body of the strut is on the top. not sure if it will make any difference?
This way around?

mark1gls yup got it that way around (checked on the other tinny I have to be sure) , although yours is on the opposite side of the car!?
I'm thinking the ram is too powerful, hence it's pulling down the hinge.
Much weirdness!

I've been having a think about the front ones too, I'm thinking a neat little bracket to bolt straight to the wing with the ball mounted at 90 degrees so it's facing into the car keeping it in line with the wing bolt. I'll see how I get on when I get back to work later this week

They stock them off the shelf for mk1's! Proper British Engineered struts, for £20 inc delivery.
A bit more than others but Buy British, that's what I say. I did enquire about the adjustable stainless ones. £50 plus vat and shipping!
Went with the non bling version in the end.
We shall see!
Thanks chaps
