Also is there a way of checking this, as I have my pump already of so I can check it whilst am there. Thanks in advance.

Yes swirl pot needed, they don't usually go wrong as it's just a plastic container with fuel in it the only time you have problems is it they are full of dirt, rust and water from the fuel tank if the filler neck has been left with rusty holes in it.

Which pump are you changing as there is 2 on that year car, 1 in the fuel tank (lift pump) and 1 underneath the car (main pump)?

Hi mark1gls, its the main pump as am not getting fuel to the engine bay, but i tried the old pump direct to battery and it worked but fuel came out where the fuel pipes takes fuel to it. That doesn't seem right or am i missing something here. Swapped the wires over on battery just incase i wired it wrong but nothing happened.
