Getting 2 or 3 sparks then nothing until I turn of the key and back on
Hi as the title I have a 1.8 DX golf convertible
I have the plug out for testing, when I crank the car I get two or three sparks then nothing after that,
If I turn off the ignition and turn it back on I get the same again two or three sparks then nothing
Any help would be greatly appreciated

How old is your rotor arm and dissy cap and HT leads and spark plugs?
If more than 12 months old I would replace them 1st to see if that helps…

Cover the open bonnet of the car with a dark blanket.
Have some one cycle the ignition switch and while they do that you get under the shrouded bonnet and look for
Sparking Fairies dancing about your HV leads. If you see them, then use sand paper to buff the area, and continue. Common ares on these that I have found are the metal jackets to the block.
