My backrest adjusting knob just spins around freely doing nothing. I couldn't find any definitive fix for this in the forum. Is there a link please?

Yep Buy new ones, they are held in place by one phillips screw with the factory blue lock.
Use a GOOD screw driver #2 Phillips.

Left handed drill bit, and a reversible drill, but since the knob is dinked break it off to get to the screw head with Vice grips.

Went at it again with a bigger screwdriver and got some grip. I couldn't get the screw out but the seat moved as i twisted it!!

The seat usually moves one way or the other as you tighten or loosen the screw, then it will eventually come out after the seat moves full travel to the direction of the screwing.
