scuttle & A Pillar repair

Hi All,
A couple of months into my new project a mk1 76 swallowtail ive come stuck on this RH A pilar, cant find any replacement parts that can be brought new. ive cut away as much of the rust as i can i dont want to cut anymore up the pilar but there is a small amount of rust inside. ive treated it with hamerite krust  for now. my question is this rust likly to return if i leave it as it is and does anyone know if you can buy new guttering as it looks pretty tricky to fabricate.

I would advise using 'body cuts' to get the section you need…

Yep.

I would go for a body 'cut'. The non genuine panels are crappy poor quality metal and bad fit.

I would cut the outer section back further than the inner so you can repair the inner nicely and then do the outer.

I would use some weld thru paint on the inner, before the outer goes on - its designed to allow welding, if you try and paint with any other sort of paint the heat from the welding will burn it off any way.

Just use some wax/oil treatment injected in there after its all done and you'll be fine.
