Running issue helllpppp

Hi have a mk1 gti
It is having a cutting out issue on braking I have had a mechanic look at it as I am stumped he believes it’s an electrical fault

He is unsure but thinks it may have an impact sensor which would cut the fuel pump on impact ie a crash, could anyone tell me if this is even a thing on my car it’s 1985 1.8 gti (injection)

The fuel pump relay is one of sorts, but cutting out when breaking is usually a vacuum leak, but as the RHD is a wee bit different then I would look at the linkages and see if there may be a wire that is cut or scraping the shafts.
