I will tell you that I bought a totally aluminum one from EBAY, and it was so pretty that I didn't want to install it.
It was well made, and the only thing I had to do prior to installation is to remove the 4 bosses on the front (ground them down with a Dremel and a cutting wheel very carefully.) so it would fit flush as it should I also bought new Pin rubbers.

When i was looking at these years ago for the oem style of Bolt at the side ones to replace the OEM on my Rabbit/Diesel, I ran across a totally brass and copper one to replace those Plastic tanks…..(gosh I hate plastic parts).  Sure I paid a tad bit more for the Aluminum one, but I figured that since I got well over 20 years out of a Brass and copper one, the totally aluminum one could be repaired in the future if needed.  Since it has a slightly larger core, it actually ran the engine cooler.

For the Bolt on the side and that silly "c" clip on the shroud, I strongly urge those individuals to Bolt it at the top similar to the Cabriolet as that is one less thing to slip out, and cause the radiator to rip up the sides as mine did with 20,014 miles on it, 14 miles out of warranty……
Bach then the OEM from VW with discount was 130USD, I got my Brass/copper from a radiator store for 98…… it was a no brainer or is that a No Brianer….
