Rear left corner

Hi folks! Had an unfortunate accident few weeks ago. Received a hefty blow to the rear left corner of my 1983 cabrio. Brought it to my garage asking for repairs and was told that it's all very complicated, cutting and welding was mentioned… Is this the only way to fix it in your opinion? Did anyone have a similar issue? Is there a replacement part for this corner? Thank you for any advice!!

Ouch. Can't imagine how annoyed you must be about that!
I'd imagine you'll need a body cut from another car to sort that out, especially as it goes round the corner. If you have a look in the Breaking a Car section of the forum there is a chap ( nicci21paul ) breaking a 1.5 cabby that might be able to sort you out.

Yeah that looks like it needs a pull and a new rear quarter panel.
