Above pic is of my old radiator. I've recently installed a new rad from Heritage and theyve confirmed the part number is correct - but it doesnt have the electrical connection near the battery tray.

Can anyone advise:

What does this connection do?
Do I need it?
If not, how best to delete the wiring?

Thanks

Different rads can have the hole for the fan temp switch in different places, some near the bottom some nearer the top.

Does the new rad not have anywhere to screw the switch?

Not that I could see, unless the plastic circle at the bottom left in the below photo pops out?

Rad is part number 321-121-253/AL, which Heritage double-checked and confirmed is the right one…

does it look like it has a threaded insert in it?

Can you get some better pics?

Hard to tell. Im going to take the rad out and see if its a temporary blank plug that protects the temp switch. connection. Ill take more photos then.

Sorted - it was a screwed blank plug. 10 seconds with a 3/8" socket adaptor and off it came.

Result, are you not re-installing the cowling and fan?

Easiest mod to make on your fan shroud is to trim the metal tangs on the hose connections to make it way easier to install or remove.
