waste gate noise on turbo

Hi fellow vw nuts
i am a bit of track here and not a question about mark 1
recentlt purchased 2010 tsi polo 1.2 engine code  CBZ
hearing noise when engine under load from 2000+rpm I believe it to be turbo waste gate linkage car runs great otherwise ruled out timing chain as not hearing noise when revved with no load
read on net there could be a problem with linakage this seems a bit loose .anyway purchase new actuator ready to fit noticed old unit able to open and close when engine not running (can here gear noise on moving) however new unit appears fixed in place and not able to move at all.
this suggests old unit is u/s and maybe causing my rattle.
not fitted yet I don't have time for a while
Does anyone know if this sounds correct?
looking for my theory to be verified
cheers
andy

I'll just give you a bump here because my knowledge of Turbo Chargers goes all the way back to the Saab 99 Turbo and the Audi Quattro Turbo from the 80's.

I think I'm about as useful as a chocolate coffee pot but hopefully someone can help you out! 😉👍
