Novice rivage fuel system question

Just a quick one really..the rivage has a intank fuel pump and a fuel filter under the bonnet what is that underneath the car on the drivers side I always thought this was a second inline pump but being told this is a 2nd fuel filter by a bloke at work can anyone clear this up for me ta

I believe floppy tops have a lift pump and a second main pump, so would guess its a pump, confirmed by checking for electrical wiring being connected to it.. Is it k-jet (know little about floppys) as if so the tintop has an accumulator there as well as the fuel pump…

Novice rivage fuel system question

My 91 gti cabby has a lift pump then a pump on drivers side just in front of rear wheel and next to it a accumulator

Yes that's it's nice one thanks for replying you two. What is the accumulators job?

Nice mark just watched that. I bought this golf 13 yrs ago coz I love how mk1 golfs look but every time I learn the technical sides of this engine it just amazes me even more.

Novice rivage fuel system question

It’s a simple system compared to modern ones but a pain in the back passage if u don’t know it.

All the subtle changes that can be made to the running of it I don't think I will ever grasp must have been state of the art at the time.
Our family car is an Audi a3 S line and I will only ever open the bonnet to top the oil and window washers haha
