New brake pads came in 2 different shapes. Which is inboard and which is outboard?

Finally got around to replacing the pads on my 93 Cabriolet. Picked up new ones from the shop, but they're two different sizes - ones taller than the other:

The old pads were identical and my workshop manual has nothing on this. Both the new pads seem to fit fine either way.

Which way are these meant to sit?

Any help would be great!

Thanks

Hi,

I've just done mine on my '92 cabriolet and I put the long one against the piston. Only knew this because that's the way the old ones came off and they were different shapes like the new ones i've just put on.
