Looking at your older threads, did you ever change the lift pump in the tank?

Is the main pump noisy when the car splutters?

I would get a new lift pump if you did not change it and try that, I've been through lots of lift pumps over the years.

If you still want a garage to have a look my cousin works hear and they are all old school VW mad…
Not sure how far they are from you?

New lift pump worth a try as under £20. Check the rubber hose between the pump and sender as they can rot away, I've fitted new hose each time I've changed my lift pump.

I'm in Stafford, and have similar issues with my gti cab.

Currently I'm looking at getting some pressure gauges to test the system.

I'm a mechanic, and work at the i54.

I don't get much free time, but I'll try and do a check list of things, as I run through mine and get it working properly.

If someone does have some gauges for the fuel pressure, or knows where to get a reasonably priced set, please let me know.

Have you changed the fuel filter recently? there are a host of things to check, I'll post one when I get some time.

I'm on nights this week, so may not get round to it for a while.

Thanks for that. I've found what I need now thanks. I have the manual for the fuel injection somewhere. No time to do it at the moment though….
