MK3 Sump baffle/surge plate gasket

I bought a mk3? surge plate branded "jp group" to go into a DX engine. The sealing surface looks a bit dubious, so I'm wondering if I'm supposed to use the normal rubber sump gasket as well? Sorry it's not mega urgent but hope sopmeone can clarify

It shouldn't have any cracks or bends.
