Mk1 gti reversing and rear fog lights

Hi,
mk1 gti 1980

Should both the near side and offside reversing lights operate when reverse gear
is selected.
On mine at the moment only the nearside comes on.

Same question with regard to the high density fog light -  one side or both.
just got one working at the moment

Sounds like bad grounds.
The Tail lights are in Parallel so you may have a corroded socket burned out bulb or a bad ground.

Reversing lights should be on both sides.

Fog light was only on 1 side, drivers side rear light should have the fog light in.

If you look at the rear/connections on the rear lights you should see only 1 light has the wiring etc for the fog light, it's been a popular mod to wire up the other side fog light.

I've done the opposite and removed the bolt on foglight and rewired the reverse light on the right hand side.

Looks far cleaner
