Everything that I know about electric windows in a Cabby circa 1990 is: Who would of thought that it is still
growing with information.

A1 Cabbie Power Window Problems | VW Vortex - Volkswagen Forum

Page 4 has what the cabbys controller looks like.

The inputs to the thing are 3 connectors that are keyed.
one for each window.

Posting pictures of what you have go a long way to helping us, as I don't have the Corrado's Bentley or Haynes to read the wiring diagrams.

I do know that that switches between the Corrado and the Passat are the same save for the rocker cover is "upside" down for the Cabriolet.

if you have a corrado loom and have the switches in the centre conole this is why, the passenger door loom is not used so a bunch of spare wires there. you should have driver side door loom behind the console with window switches, then 2 wires into each door for the motors.

fusebox side of the loom you shoudl have black and/or black/blue which needs ignition live -> G spade 1, 2,3 or 5. brown/white -> door pin switch for interior light. red wire from fuse -> p spade. red/yellow ignore. fat brown from module find a good earth near by, bare metal a bt of bodywork and self-tapper  will work if it wont reach anywhere handy

If you take the brown/white door switch wire, and cut it.
You will have power to the controller for 15 minutes after you turn the key off.

It was a Trick I found, that I was tired of forgetting to roll my windows up after I had gotten out of the car and closing the door.

So one day when I was diagnosing my windows, I started to look at the wiring, (it was a broken ground/power in the loom between the door and the "a" pillar.

Cutting the brown/white was a blessing….

The problem I’m having is how do I connect the loom to the actual window mechs

The looms for the motors are connected to a 2 pin plug  that feeds through the "A" pillar in to the door frame via a rubber Gaiter.  You would need to remove the pins from the connector to get them in the Gaiter.

Fortunately that it is only two wires, and a fish tape helps.

If you don't have electric windows, then you also may have to make a couple of new holes to get them to mount correctly, I even had to cut a larger hole for the window stop.

if you leave the brown/white at the door pin you can operate the windows with the door open, at any time. first thing in the morning, open the door and open the windows. parked up? open the door, work the windows :P

see the 2 pin plugs with the thick brown/red and black/red, these are the motor power wires. For whatever reason the corrado loom has the window plugs the opposite way round so you have 2 female ends. you need to find a male plug and splice it to the corrado loom, or the mk1 regulator

Before you solder the plugs check the windows work the right way round though, you have a 50/50 chance of getting it right the first time ;)
