Mk1 golf 1.5 gls carb

Hi guys, currently got my stock 1.5 GLS sat on my driveway with intermittent carb problems. Idle jet keeps getting clogged and I'm bored of removing constantly,  I'm looking to upgrade it to make it a beefier drive anyway so.. will this one do? Currently got the standard carb with the auto choke so I'm happy to replace to a manual choke.
