Hello please any advice or help much appreciated if anyone is local and would be willing to come and take a look would be saving me!

car turns over may start up but abruptly cuts out seems like fuel starvation, have replaced tank, filler neck, coil, ht leads, swirl pot, fuel pump, also bought another carb and still the same issue, could sometimes get it to run long enough to get down the road but then again acts like fuel starvation no reaction when you press the pedal. had a new dizzy and new coil also.

anyone????

remove the swirl pot if fitted, block the return and put the feul feed straight to the carb. if that sorts it refit the pot and put a welding tip in the return to act as a restrictor. common issue as the restrictor should be there as std but goes missing

thank you! I have done this now and the car starts at least and i can drive it but then it suffers from fuel starvation when i put down some power, then if i ease off it may carry on driving fine, and other times it drop dead usually when i push the clutch in, any thoughts?? I did not use a welding tip I had just used a cable stripper and bent a notch into the return pope.

did you try it with the pot completely removed? if its fine then maybe you need to a bit more of a restriction a bit more. the welding tip most use is 0.8mm so they do a very good job of reducing fuel flow

it could be the fuel pump is a little weak though

I did not test drive it with the pot removed only ran it, I was not sure if the pressure from the fuel pump would damage the carb, I have had 3 fuel pumps on here they all do the same, as well as another carb.
