looking for experienced Mk1 GTI Cabrio mechanic/enthusiast

I have a 1989 Mk1 GTI Cabrio which had a 1993 Mk2 16V engine drop in 2005. I bought the car in 2010 and have done little bits here and there, but I'm no mechanic or expert. It has been off the road for almost a year, and now I'm ready to get it back to good working order. Hope to hear from some local enthusiasts Thanks!

Lots of us have worked on parts that only a few others have and visa versa.

For exanple I'm pretty compatent with brakes but electrics are not my forte (or spelling apparently)
