Does anybody have a decent image of where the smaller accumulator sits on a late cabriolet Gti please
I have purchased new Bosch one and fuel pump to replace for piece of mind but i cannot for the life of me see where it lives!!
Id like to have an idea before i take anything apart
As at the moment i cant even work out if there is one still on the car! It may well have been removed hence me not being able to find it!
Any help or images much appreciated

Do you mean fuel accumulator or fuel swirl pot? The swirl pot sat on the side of the tank. Might have photos of that too will check.

Just the accumulator location, is it hidden above the fuel pump and carrier in that void or next to it? I can see the white plastic filter type thing is that part of the swirl pot?
I have a strange feeling that my accumulator may have been removed at some point? As there is a little bracket and what looks like an indent where it looks like something once was!
Any help or pics much appreciated

And it confirms mine has been deleted! As all i have is the bracket present!
Not sure how they have done it just yet! But im guessing i need to obtain 1 new pipe at least to reinstate it and get the bracket that holds it!
Many Thanks for your help mate

I guess yours stopped working/sprung a leak at some point and instead of replacing it as they are expensive someone just took it out as the car will still run without it but it makes it hard to start when the engine is hot…
Classic VW maybe able to help with the hoses etc you need.

Strangely my car starts fine hot or cold, although it does sometimes just cut out randomly, it can sit there ages ticking over then stops, don't think the fuel pressure is being maintained properly and the accumulator may be why? Gonna replace it anyway
I have worked out i need, fuel pump to accumulator hose with the banjo one end, and accumulator to main supply, the nut that goes onto the end of the pump
Only thing im not sure is if the threaded fittings will still even be there for the hose to thread onto the main feed side to the front of the car? Im guessing maybe not if they put the hose straight onto the pump, which will cause an issue!
I also need to find the small type clamp that holds the accumulator if anyone has one they will part with

Had a look and i can get all but the clamp online brand new for less than £100 so not too bad
And i have the added bonus i wont be fighting with old fuel fittings anytime soon 😂
