I used the existing cable tie ends on the board and got them to light, but when I pressed the brake pedal, it blew a fuse in the fuzebox, so Im wondering if Im not doing something right.
Any help will be highly appreciated!
Edit: here is a glorious pic of when the lights worked ( 2 mins duration total )

They aren't connected to the tail/brake/turn plate at all.
So that is how they are on my Cabriolet.
What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?
They all start with GOOD Grounds.
Where are my DIY Links?

About the tail light board, I've seen just one more post in the forum, where there were some (at least one) wire connected to a back of a tail light board. What are those for then, if not for the number plate lights?

Here is a photo of how I have the wires connected:
(don't mind the gunk and general dirtyness, it will be spanky clean soon )
For now it seems to be working like this, tried pressing the brake pedal, no blown fuses so far, just fyi, I did not try it like this last night, but then I did not have spare fuses to throw in, so that happened today
