Intermediate shaft interference with Crank Pulley

So was just putting this back together after a total rebuild. Now my intermediate shaft sprocket seems to have contact with my crank pulley. Have i put the intermediate shaft  sprocket on backwards? seems like one side has deeper throat than the other but wanted to ask and see before i pull it off.  IMG_20210830_143253.jpg IMG_20210830_143259.jpg IMG_20210830_143304.jpg

You have fitted the water pump pulley to the crank, the crank pulley is a different design.
See pictures on the link.

ok folks, so this was driving me nuts yesterday. pulled the intermediate shaft sprocket off and measured and flipped it around. it was indeed on backwards. fits beautifully now. This particular car has, water pump pulley, alternator pulley, power steering pulley and aircon pulley. So i believe the pulleys are indeed correct and in the right place. Just to double check that i went back and pulled the "before" photos. Cant see the sprocket but the pulleys are correct. I have attached photos for your ref. After i flipped the intermediate sprocket everything fit perfectly and timing mark is now on the correct side too, so that was a bit of a give away. Thanks! not sure about that, this is now back on exactly as i came off. the crank has two pulleys on on it. big one at the back goes to water pump (inner pulley)and the AC compressor outer pulley, outer crank pulley (smaller) goes to water pump (outer pulley) and power steering pump. Inner AC pulley goes to alternator. Just double checked on another car i have out back. Pulley are prob different if on a a non AC car. see photos

Briano1234 is your best bet to what should go where as uk cars don't come with the engine power sucking air con and power steering so I can't be much help.

Your giving me much mor credit than I deserve..

see:
http://www.cabby-info.com/Files/Belts.pdf

The belts usually run on mine at least.

Inner Crank Pulley water pump under rub, around the ac clutch.
Outer crank pulley to power steering.

The only real differences that I know of is sometimes vw added a second pulley the water pump so that you can have 2 belts driving it, and that went from the crank to the power steering to water pump (outside).

A non-a/c car has a longer alternator pulley.

When it is 50C and sunny, driving extended trips with no a/c  with the top down can beat you up and burn your butt.  I know as I grew up driving vert british leylands, MG's and Bugeye Sprite (you call then Frog Eye) not only did you fry your chest and arms and face, but you could burn your legs on the tranny tunnel….but a/c and the top up on those extended trips are wonderful…

if you have black leather or pleather interior be sure that you fold your seat forward… Those that drive Aigner, just gets there back branded, tose with dark leather or vinyl burns your legs and backs if you are at the beach……
