Injector seats 82/83 1.8 gti. Sealed in or not?

Hi all. Im jut replacing the bakerlite or plastic injector seats on my golf. Are these threaded inserts sealed in with anything? TIA

Hi thanks. I have machined these out. What i am asking is when fitting the new ones are the treads sealed into the head with sealant or just screwed in without using sealant. Thanks

Just screwed in IIRC a wrap of Teflon tape wouldn't hurt.
