Dash switches, expansion tank cap, gear lever, clutch pedal
My gear linkage was replaced by the previous owner and all parts were replaced including the ball etc. When I push down to get reverse it feels like the end of the gear stick is scraping on something. I haven't got underneath yet to have a look but can someone advise me on what, if anything, I need to look for?
My clutch pedal vibrates when driving and it's a metallic rattle kind of noise. It goes away if I rest my foot on the pedal and I can't feel any vibration through the pedal.
I replaced the hazard switch and now they are like this when all switches are off. The old switch wasn't working at all so I don't know what that one was like.
Thanks for any help received.
Matt.

However, it is quite common to see this, think this is just about all you an buy now. I have seen some people install them upside down, so at least the switch operates in same direction as the others, but the triangle symbol is then upside down,

The rattle/vibration through the steering/clutch pedal may be the plastic bottom bush in your steering column has fell to bits and there is play in the column, lean down at the bottom of the steering column and grab the UJ joint and give it a wobble, also wobble the end of the steering rod going through the steering column.
If you grab the steering wheel and pull up. push down, pull left and right you may feel play there as well.
When mine failed I was getting the same problem as you and when I pulled the steering shaft out I was left with bits and plastic and metal ball bearings all over the car floor from the remains of the old bush.
Bush is straight forward to replace just make sure you mark up the shaft going in the uj joint so you get I back together in the same place or your steering wheel will be off centre.
I found it easier to remove the drivers seat to gain better access to the bottom of the steering column, you also need to remove the ignition cowl, indicator and wiper stalk etc you be able to pull the steering rod up to separate it from the UJ joint.
Guide in the Haynes manual.

Thanks Richard, is that switch yours and is there a part number on it?
Cheers.
Matt.
No it's just an image I found I am afraid.

I have checked the steering bush but it feels ok. I have also adjusted the clutch cable as there was quite a bit of slack in it. I'll take it for a run tomorrow and see what it's like.
The hazard switch is fixed, and it was a simple fix! The only difference between the two switches is the writing on the rocker, it's upside down on the lhd switch. Even the part numbers are the same! I removed the rockets, swapped them over and voila!😎

Swap the black cap for a blue one and see if that helps.
Thanks, I'll give it a try.
I've just looked at my expansion tank again and I'm not sure if it's a genuine item!

Thanks for the link. I took the rocker out of the old switch and put it in the new switch and then turned it around so it's the right way. See my updated photo on this post. I appreciate your help though, thanks.👍🏻
